Sam, 32, grew up in White Plains, NY, and was born with Down syndrome. He has been playing drums and studying at Lagond Music School for 15 years. Music has always been a big part of his life.

As a teenager, he was obsessed with Green Day, but his musical tastes now range widely—from pop and rock to rap and even Frank Sinatra. Sam knows over 300 songs and can often identify a tune after hearing only 3 or 4 notes.

​

He has two younger brothers who also love music and study guitar and piano. Sam is a Pokémon aficionado and enjoys hiking, theater, and spending time with his girlfriend, Anna. He currently lives in a residential home in Yorktown, NY.
